I ordered a server for zoneminder with 4TB and two 8CH bt878 cards, but out of some fluke of engineering the bt878 cards won't fit into the PCI-X slots of the server without lifting the PCI risers and shorting either the 3.3v or 5v connections out, they do however work fine in a lower end server that won't support the large harddrives. So this leads me to a question:
Is is possible to setup zoneminder on one machine or both in such a way that the video capture card output can be streamed from the low end server to the high-end server via a crossover cable for storage and further streaming to clients that choose to connect via a web connection to view the streams? The high end server is quite nice (two 4-core x64 processors, 8GB RAM and 4TB HDD) so I'd like it to handle all the client connections, the low-end server only needs to display locally on a monitor and stream to the storage/connection management server.
Setting up linked instances of ZoneMinder - is it possible?

I have notes to use the following, I haven't tried it yet. We will be doing similar as our old server has a 4 port capture card that wont fit in the new server that will mainly be recording IP cameras.
