need hint to get edimax nc213 to run or proposal for camera

Hi there, some days ago, I bought a Edimax NC-231 and I must say that I am very disappointed. The camera was not cheap, but the documentation is very poor and lacks essential parts, so that I cannot get it to work with Zoneminder.
Before I return it:

-- Did anybody succeed to connect that model to Zoneminder and can give me some hints?

If not...

-- Is there a recommendation for a megapixel camera (~5MP) with CS-mount?

I see that there are zillions of cameras with fixed lenses that work with zoneminder, but I couldn't find any camera with CS-mount.

Any help is highly appreciated!!

Hi,

a little more from the Edimax NC-213 :

I can open a stream in VLC with the URL

http://192.168.178.187/live/stream2.cgi

VLS asks for username and password.

The codec information in VLC is:
Type: video
codec: Motion JPEG Video (MJPG)
Resolution 1280x720
Decoded format: Planar 4:2:0 YUV full scale

I entered the data into the Zoneminder dialog:
Remote protocol: html
Remote MEthod: simple
Remote Host Name: admin:1234@192.168.178.187
Remote Host Port: 80
Remote Host Path /live/stream2.cgi
Remote Image Colour: 24bit colour
Capture Width (pixels): 1280
Capture Height (pixels): 720
Preserve Aspect Ratio: no
Orientation: normal

All I get is a black window...

any hints?

Well, in a way, I solved it. I returned the camera.

I couldn't get it to work, even with network sniffing.
