ubuntu 12.04 - compile from source - ffmpeg issue

Post by tcpdump »

Hi,

I'm trying to compile zoneminder from source (to have a look at the face and plate recognition plugins) but all tutorials I followed don't seem to install ffmpeg properly.
All compilations are successful but when I add my IP camera with ffmpeg I get in the logs a: FAT - ffmpeg libraries need to be installed (I don't have the exact message right now).
I tried installing ffmpeg from apt and also from source but it's the same.
Is anyone aware of a tutorial that gets the ffmpeg libraries correct?

Alternatively, can I install the plugins on an existing zoneminder installation (from apt)?

Thanks.
