I attempted to do a search through the forum, hoping to find settings that work for my VideoSecu camera (BNC), but not able to pull anything up to work with. Wondering if there is a doc of working settings for most cameras ?? Tried many settings using various color palettes ntsc 320x240 and 640x480, but just get green or black images (no video).
specs: VedoSecu model IR24W
Image Sensor 1/3"CCD
Resolution 480 TV Lines

Re: Camera settings resource / VideoSecu
With a camera like that the camera makes no difference at all. Please post your capture card type and whether or not it's being recognized by the system.
Re: Camera settings resource / VideoSecu
Here is the hardware info. The card has 4 BNC inputs. Works fine with an indoor canon camera on the same input.

Re: Camera settings resource / VideoSecu
Try bringing up that camera by pointing VLC (or other) to /dev/video0 to see if it is working. If not check the camera power supply.
[solved] Re: Camera settings resource / VideoSecu
Some how my new zoneminder database became corrupt. I ran mysqlcheck against it, restarted and the video capture worked.
