Hello,
My name is Chris and i work on a new project in my company to set new life in the camera surveillance servers.
I want to use the old servers since they have a working capture card and a good CPU, and there is nothing wrong with the servers themself.
But the OS was Windows XP and very unstable, so we made the choice to install linux and ZoneMinder.
I installed CentOS 6.4 Final CLI based and ZoneMinder and tried to get Camera Feed.
The Capture card is a Abus Digi-Protect 100 - 16 also known as TV8807 (ver: T2.0A) and the card has 4 chips Conexant Fusion 878A.
The card has 2 VGA lookalike connectors and we have 2 VGA to BNC splitter with 8 BNC connectors on both VGA connectors so we have 16 Camera possibility's.
I tested all Drivers from BTTV options 0 to 159 and 2 cameras connected 1 on BNC 1 of the first VGA and 1 on BNC 8 of the First VGA.
In ZoneMinder i added 16 Monitors 4 per chip (Video0-3) and channels 0-3.
Then i got video feed on options:
options bttv gbuffers=4 card=131,131,131,131 tuner=4,4,4,4
Feed from BNC 8 first vga on all channels (one and the same camera) the second camera just doesn't show up.
options bttv gbuffers=16 card=157,157,157,157 tuner=4,4,4,4
Feed from BNC 1 first VGA on all channels same story as above.
options bttv gbuffers=16 card=142,142,142,142 tuner=4,4,4,4
snowy feed from BNC 1 first VGA on channels:
Video0/1/2/3 all on channels 0
And only a top snowy feed from BNC 1 first VGA on channels:
Video0/1/2/3 all on channels 1
Also no feed from BNC 8 First VGA.
I tried different gbuffers 4, 16 and 32 but it doesn't seem to affect anything.
And there is nothing wrong with the camera's or the Cable's nor the capture card, because i tested it under the old server and the camera feed come's in on one channel, also i switched the capture cards to know for sure the card isn't broken.
Not to forget i did a harddisk change to see if it will work on the other server and without succes i get the same things as above described, so i know for sure i don't use broken hardware.
I don't know where to search anymore, i hope someone can help me, would be very grateful!
Thanks for reading and hope that my english was readable.
Greets,
Chris Schuil

Try changing the captures per frame setting to a value of 2 in ZM options

Thanks for your guick response, unfortunately changing the CAPTURES_PER_FRAME under options/config doesn't change anything (visual).
Also i noticed that in the information of this option you could change V4L_MULTI_BUFFER option i tried this too and changed the CAPTURES_PER_FRAME back to 1 but again i can't see any difference.
After that i tried changing the CAPTURES_PER_FRAME to 3 but it doesn't maka anything better.
I did the testing with "options bttv gbuffers=16 card=157,157,157,157 tuner=4,4,4,4"
And i'm going to test it with "options bttv gbuffers=16 card=142,142,142,142 tuner=4,4,4,4".
Because the information for these options looks like a troubleshoot for the problems i have with the drivers off 142.
I wil give a update in 30 minutes.

Re: unwanted video feed on all channels from 1 camera
Well trying ZM under the 142 driver seems to work better, no interference anymore on all channels 1 per chip.
But i get feed from 1 camera on every chip with channel 0, there is a second camera connected but i can't find it.
I tried every channel from 0 to 31 on the first chip (Video0) without succes.
I get feed from the Capture card (bleu screen) but no camera feed on every channel except channel 0.
So to be clear:
Camera feed on BNC 1 first vga:
Video0/1/2/3 on channels 0
Capture card feed (bleu screen):
Every chip every channel except 0
