monitor/analize/alarm at high fps, record at low fps?

Post by nbensa »

Hello,

I wonder if this is possible: monitor and analize at high fps, record at low fps (1fps for example) and record at high fps on alarm.

What I was able to achieve is monitor and record at 1fps. Record on alarm at 25fps (using the options "Maximum FPS" and "Alarm Maximum FPS").

I have found some post where the author mentions he always records at high fps and then, once a day, he make videos of alarms and delete the rest. Is this the only way?

Thanks,
Norberto

I don't know if this will help your problem, but did you realise that you can have two monitors with different settings, both using the same camera?

For example, set monitor-1a to your camera, with monitor and analyse at "high" FPS, in modetect mode, ONLY recording when there is an alarm.

Set monitor-1b to use the same camera hardware, in plain "record" mode, at "low" FPS, recording at low rate all the time.

Does that help?

Hi,

yes I knew it. I just find that solution somewhat "unclean". I'd like to have only one stream.

I'll go with "two" cameras for now. Maybe what I really need is an external trigger (X10?).

Thanks!
