can ZM write the camera capture to the disk?

Post by mangoo »

After reading the documentation, FAQ, and feature list, it is still not clear for me: can ZoneMinder write the camera capture to the disk?

What I mean, is it possible to look back in the past to see what happened for example a week ago ago at 09:24?

Yes....
How long it holds the images of coarse depends on your capture rate, size of the image, if it's colour or not, and the size of your harddrive.
If your looking for an easy way to set it up I would try out Ross's live cd or you can pm me an address and I can ship you a Fedora Core 3 CD that has ZM on it and installs everything through the anaconda installer. My CD also uses the RHupdater to let you know when I have placed an updated zm package up for download and can install it automagicaly.

OK, thanks for the info.

I'll try the live CD first.
