When live viewing from the console into montage, there is a delay that just gets longer and longer. Any ideas why this is the case as the montage is of little use with this happening
Thanks
Montage view has ever increasing delay Why?????

Are you using IP cameras, and if so, did you accidentally set the Frame Rate (fps) in Zone Minder's per-camera controls?
If so, CLEAR the "fps" boxes for this/these camera(s), and set the frame rate only at the camera end. Either on its web-page, or in the URL you use to access it. http://mycamera/video.cgi&rate=25 or similar magic phrase!
Otherwise, the camera sends at e.g. 15.1 FPS, and Zoneminder only processes 15 FPS, a delay will build up and ZM can do nothing much about it.
Otherwise, if it's USB or capture cards, I don't know!

Re: Montage view has ever increasing delay Why?????
My 4 Dlink 930L's with FPS in camera at 5 and 2 in Zoneminder. I end up with around 26 connections at all times.
These are wireless cameras.
Setting just 1 camera to blank in Zoneminder immediately jumps to around 60 at all times.
I still haven'd determined the best setting but I have been running with few dropped connections when setting Zoneminder at or below the camera FPS.
With a blank my cameras run at around 15FPS in Zoneminder no matter what the camera is set for.

Re: Montage view has ever increasing delay Why?????
I'm on bttv capture cards. Tried altering frame rates as this pops up in a few forums, but to no avail???? Is this a bug in 1.25 or am i missing something else?

If it's bttv capture cards, that comes under "Otherwise, if it's USB or capture cards, I don't know!"
The clearing frame-rate boxes only applies to IP cameras where ZM has no control over when frames are captured. A remote IP Camera will capture frames as and when it feels like it and send them whther you want them or not.
A Bttv card is so close that ZM can control when the frames occur, so it's not an issue.
Your problem sounds like a problem with the playback of the monitored stream, as opposed to an ever increasing delay in the captured stream. You might be able to check this by making an "event" happen in front of a camera, and then see if the "event" entry turns up on time, when your montage view shows that it hasn't happened. Yet.

Yes it comes under 'otherwise'
This seems to be a 1.25 issue.
Going to try to upgrade to 1.26 to see if this sorts the problem. Put a post up requesting info on whats the least problematic way of doing this. Any ideas/suggestions?
