New Install after crashed database, no ZM

Post by volantis »

I had a working setup for several years. Last week, something happened that suddenly gave me a 404 error when logging into ZM. After spending hours trying all sorts of "fixes" from different posts, I finally deleted the ZM usr directory and reinstalled the ZM from the default repository (I'm not going to look it up right now.)

I have recently upgraded from Ubuntu 13.04 to 13.10. I also now have an error on my boot screen that says something about freedesktop not working. I have version 1.26.4 of Zoneminder installed according to these directions:
http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.ph ... e_easy_way

The Apache server is working, but Zoneminder is not.

In my previous installation I determined that my sql database was corrupted and had zero lines. I tried rebuilding it before I finally just deleted the whole usr directory.

I suspect the old sql file is still there somewhere, but I do not know how to purge it. There may also be some configuration file or some other file that is corrupted, which I did not replace during the new install.

Any help as to how to get ZM working again would be appreciated.
