FC3 RPM and SMP

Post by mkernan »

Quick question--

I am running Fedora Core 3 with an SMP kernel on a quad Xeon box. I installed ZM using the yum repo (very nifty, thanks). Do I need to do anything special (aka - do I need to build ZM myself) in order to get SMP support in Zoneminder or should that not matter?

I don't think you need to do any thing else for SMP but I'm not truely positive. I belive that for a package to truely utilize smp it has to be programed to do so or it may get the fuctionality from the libraries when it's compiled or both.
To sum it up, it would not benifit you to rebuild the package from source to my knowledge.
