Maximum blob size limit hit.

Post by lazyleopard »

Having doubled the dimensions of my camera images, I've run up against a limit on maximum blob size. Something somewhere won't let a blob go over 65535 even though the maximum number of pixels may be much larger. I suspect it's related to the use of "smallint" in the definitions of various blob columns in the database schema.

Thanks for the post. I'll have a look and see if I can track anything down.

I've been looking at this one and it does appear that the 'Stats' table has this limit. However that shouldn't have any functional effect. Do you know if this limit has caused anything to work incorrectly or are you just looking at the frame stats and going by that (which I will fix)?

I think I found that I could not use a zone with a maximum blob size larger than that, as my current set-up has unlimited maxima for alarmed area, filtered area and blob area. Previously, when I was using 288x384 images, I was using maximum blob sizes in an attempt to avoid light-on and light-off situations triggering events. When I switched to 576x768 images I found that my maximum blob size (which, obviously, increased fourfold) blew the limit and the restriction no longer worked.
