I have two cameras I'm trying to add to ZM, but so far, the only thing I've been able to do is to get a red screen.
The first camera is an ACTi ACM4200 at 192.168.0.11, and the second is an Arecont AV3100 on 192.168.0.12.
The ACTi requires a login, which for the time being is "admin", and "123456". However, I do not know the path to the video stream. All I see are different configuration settings. The Arecont has no login, so I just type in the IP I assigned to it, and I see the stream immediately.
So the network is fine, apparently. I can connect to both cameras, and though I can't find the stream for the ACTi, the Arecont works via the internet browser. I don't recall seeing any compatibility notes on the Arecont, but it was mentioned that anything ACTi is compatible with ZM
I should also mention that the system I am trying to replace had a different DVR program on it (AVerDiGi NV5000, Windows XP), and it runs the cameras just fine, so I must be doing something wrong.
My network is manually set, with the computer ZM is on at 192.168.0.199, connected to a switch where the two cameras are also located, as well as the old computer which I plan to replace (located at 192.168.0.200).
Not sure what other information I can provide, so if anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.
EDIT: Using the probe function, I see the ACTi camera available, but clicking save does nothing. I don't see the Arecont camera, though.
EDIT2: Using the exact same settings as the old computer, I get "Unrecognised content type 'text/html'", "No content boudary found in header 'text/html; charset=iso-8859-1'", and "Unable to get response" in the logs. These three repeat.
Unable to add network cameras

Please post your settings, maybe something is missed or wrong.

After more than 15 years, no longer using ZM as surveillance system.
Now in the dark side, using a commercial system...

1) You need to know the path to the video streamhiigaran wrote:ACTi ACM4200
I do not know the path to the video stream.
Using the exact same settings as the old computer, I get "Unrecognised content type 'text/html'", "No content boudary found in header 'text/html; charset=iso-8859-1'", and "Unable to get response" in the logs. These three repeat.

2) That error looks like you are trying to make a connection to the camera using the "home" (index) page, through not knowing where to get the videostream, and it's feeding back an HTML response which (obviously) is not the image stream, hence ZM is confused.
Re: Unable to add network cameras
Sorry folks. Linux was giving me too much of a headache, so I went with iSpy on Windows 8. Got the IP cameras working within an hour. This was an urgent question, since it's intended for a store, so I couldn't wait.
