Hi,
I have a Dahua IPC-HFW4300S IP camera that I am trying to get working with ZoneMinder. It has been an extremely frustrating struggle since day one, but I have finally made some progress. After upgrading the IP cam firmware to 2.420.0000.0.R, build : 2014-04-19, I finally have live video in ZM v1.27, but I cannot get motion detection to work, and I have a bunch of errors in my logs. I am using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, and everything has been updated via Update Manager. I have also tried setting up a brand new Ubuntu 12.04 LTS virtual machine and installing ZM there, with the same results. I would GREATLY appreciate any assistance that can be provided! Please let me know if additional information is needed.
The following is a capture of my syslog while going through the sequence of:
1). Starting ZoneMinder.
2). Viewing feed from monitor.
3). Closing feed from monitor.

No motion detection and lots of errors
Re: No motion detection and lots of errors
If you are using Libvlc there may be some issues with viewing motion with mocord set. I had to set up a new server yesterday due to a hardware failure and I set up Ubuntu 14.04 with the latest snapshot version and my h.264 camera would not do video with mocord set with libvlc. Reinstalled with Ubuntu 12.04 and ZM 1.27 with the same results. Ended up with Ubuntu 14.04 and the "stock" ZM 1.26.5 and have the camera working with ffmpeg just fine. Am working on a test bed to try to find out what went wrong.
