This is similar to a previous request for having a time-of-day spec.
I have a camera watching my garden and walkway and would like to catch nocturnal animals trying to get in. The subjects are small and may not grow brightly under infrared. Also, I'd like to catch people walking through the yard after dark, but during the day the shadows of trees in the wind results in many false alarms. So, during the day, I have to limit motion detection to very large targets in specific areas, and increase sensitivity after the sun goes down when contrast is lower and moving shadows are gone.
The sunrise/sunset time is of course calculable from one's position on the earth, so at any time of the year we can tell whether the current time is during the day or after dark.
It would be super cool if a motion zone could be set to be active during the day, after dark, or both! As the days get shorter or longer, then the active times would change automatically.
Any thoughts on this?
Use motion zones during day or after dark--sunset time based
