zoneminder - no version can handle this problem...

Post by neuronetv »

I've discovered to my amusement there's one thing zoneminder will never conquer no matter how many new and improved versions come out, and that is spiders building cobwebs in front of the camera. My zm is struggling to keep up with all the goings on in front of two of my outdoor cameras. The good side of this is that I've captured some interesting footage of spiders and their antics as they do their thing up and down the cobweb, unaware their movement is triggering their own recording. The downside is it only take a slight brezze and some sunlight to make the cobweb twinkle and trigger recordings.
The other day I cleaned the cobweb away from one of my cams, two days later and there's an ever bigger cobweb there now, this one tighter and more complex than the previous. Spider wins, I haven't got the heart to wreck all his hard work.
