Missing Items after major upgrade

Hi All

A few days ago I uppgraded Ubuntu/ZM from 10.04LTS/1.24.x to 14.04LTS/1.28.0(Isaac Connor PPA).

After struggling with it and have solved some issues, I still have some I did not find any solution.

1) I cannot see the "Disable Alarms" link, fps rate value, "Force Alarm" link at any cameras' window;

2) No alarm registry shown at any camera window, I have 600000+ of them in the database; I can see them (not all of them, just the post-upgrade alarms) clicking at alarms' count at main window.

3) Control button DownRight is missing but if I click the place, the camera moves according.

I am not a PERL expert but how can I debug these issues?

Was your previous install of 1.24 built from source or installed from package?
If from source, did you "make uninstall" it before you installed the 1.28 deb package from iconnor's ppa?

My previous install was from package. The one that came with Ubuntu 10.04LTS

And no, I did not uninstall ZM before upgrade.
I just did "apt-get dist-upgrade" after including iconnor's ppa.

What is really annoying me is the fact ZM 1.28.0 can't display the items I mentioned.
For some reason I can't tell, upgrading erased all stored frames. (despite undesireble, I have no problem with this)

Well, you are taking quite a jump in versions of Ubuntu. Suggest you see:

and add the directories and symbolic links as well as enable cgi in Apache2. Also add the delay to start ZM. You might get lucky and have an operating system when done!

vlc-nox can be installed instead vlc? (vlc package installs literally dozens of unnecessary X libs to my system)

Do not know about vlc-nox. Will have to try it sometime. I have had issues with the libvlc and do not use it on my production system.

Did you get ZM to work after your upgrade?

My ZM install works, or almost.

It receives all my cameras images, show them at programmed rate, detects alarms and store the alarmed frames (events) , but...

I can't still access the events from the cameras window. I can only access them from the main screen clicking at the Events (hour, day, ...) counts. That list with recent events just bellow the live camera image is EMPTY.

The "Force alarm" and "Disable Alarms" links are not present at any Feed window.
Frame rate shows nothing (State: - fps) despite I see live stream from the cameras.

I am considering purging ZM and reinstall from ground.
I'd like to even clear MySQL from ZM's tables.

Is there anything I shoud be aware before doing this complete purge?
