I've the problem, that my live video is not working really good if I try to stream it via webbrowser. I often got "freezes" after round about 1 minute of watching live video. Sometimes it is working longer, sometimes I got the freeze after some seconds. If I got a freeze, I close the window and press on the camera (monitor) again, the browser popup comes, videostream starts and after some time it is stopping.
My setup:
4x IP (RTSP) cameras, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
The cameras have a own webinterface - that is working good. I also can stream for example to VLC (via RTSP) - it is working all the time, so I don't think that the cameras have a problem by general.
I tryed a lot of options (played with the resolutions, quality, fps,.... on camera side and on ZM side, too).
I used a complete other computer - the same. Also I tried different settings for streaming, but nothing would really helps. It would be perfect to use a standard method, that works on a standard browser like Firefox. BTW: I also tried different browsers like firefox, chrome & opera.
What always works: One camera is configures as Modect - that is working, still if the live view is broken. Also the recordings are all okay. So the system seems to be okay, only the streaming is broken after some time.
Did anybody have a hint for me, what I can try?
Thanks,
Joseph

Re: Live videostream freeze after some time
If all the streams initially start fine but stop shortly after, and it only happens when you have >1 camera open, then you are bottlenecking somewhere. If you are performing this test on a local LAN, are not streaming over WiFi, and are not routing though any kind of firewall, only then can you rule out a network issue. You didn't tell us what hardware you are running on so that is about all anyone can say at this point.

Re: Live videostream freeze after some time
Thanks for your answer.
It also happens on the local machine, when I open localhost/zm.
Okay, reaction is faster on the local machine, but there also the picture freeze after some time.
Most of the cases the image is visible at start and then it freeze.
But sometimes there are not comming a image from beginning. Then I close and reopen and then it works.
At the moment I test on a Machine with a Intel J1900, 8GB RAM, SSD.
My other tests was on a Intel i3, 2.4 GHz.
Same issue.
Via SSH I can see with htop the processor and the RAM. Okay, somtimes zmc eats a lot of cpu up to 100%, but I can't see any coherence between the cpu and the live image. Because, sometimes cpu is "sleeping", works with 40% and it also doesn't work with live.
If it helps, I can try to organize a Intel i5, but for my feeling it think it is not the cpu.

Re: Live videostream freeze after some time
To isolate the error, I installed Chrome now on the ZoneMinder Machine and test also with localhost/zm in the Chrome Browser - still the same. Sometimes no stream, sometimes very very fast and most of all the stream comes, start and after some seconds up to 2 minutes it stops - image frozen and I must to reopen the browser window.
