Absolutely.
Raspbian might be the most popular distro for the raspberry pi, but it is not the only one.

The Fedora team natively builds for the arm7 architecture.

I believe this is the active thread that describes it here:

Visit my blog for ZoneMinder related projects using the Raspberry Pi, Orange Pi, Odroid, and the ESP8266

Ok cool, gonna look into that as Raspbian is a bit bloated with it's GUI but most important of all...I need a running ZM on the Pi :D Gonna save me a lot of energy when I can turn my Synology into hibernate when I don't use it (90% of the time that it's on actually...).

Add one of the following to /etc/apt/sources.list for raspbian packages.

deb http://zmrepo.zoneminder.com/debian wheezy
or
deb http://zmrepo.zoneminder.com/debian jessie

adding this line to lists did not work:

deb zmrepo zoneminder / debian wheezy main contrib non-free rpi

apt-get update shows errors:

Err zmrepo zoneminder wheezy/main armhf Packages
