multiple monitors per page

Post by bhomass »

Hi

I saw on the home page, a demo of 4 large monitor screens on one web page. is that done by using large montage size or is there a way to specify a number of screens per page?

I think you are referring to the montage view. You can specify the maximum number of columns you want to display, though unfortunately this was broken in 1.21.0. It's fixed in 1.21.1!

That is the motage view and looks like the frames are set to 320x240 and for three collumns
in options under the web tab.

That is the 'compact montage' which is an option under Options->Web and which basically removes all the little options for each camera and just has one menu line for the whole window.

for some reason, now when I click on montage, the frame comes up with only the first monitor. there are 4 monitors shown on the console. is there a config for which monitors show up in the montage view? I can't find it.

All the cameras have to be set to some thing besides none for the function. If that is not it a setting or few in the groups (top left says n Monitors) if you added any might need to get changed.
Here are two documents you should read that will get you more familuar with ZM.

that is not it. I know zm pretty well by now.

all 4 have been set to monitor and the group label says 4 monitors. but still montage pulls up only the top monitor.

Can you check the source of the page you see and try and tell whether it's trying to display 4 monitors at all. I've not seen any problem like this before.

ok, I know the symptons now.

when I select NONE for monitor group, then montage shows all four.

if I define new groups with 4, or 3 of the monitors, then click montage, then it only displays the first monitor. the console does agree with the group selection. another words, if I select the 3 monitor group, then the console only shows the three monitors. why doesn't the montage display follow the selection? is this a bug?

A couple of things to check. What do you have ZM_MAX_MONTAGE_COLS set to, if anything? I assume you don't have any cookie problems or anything like that, as that is what is used to store the group in.

ZM_WEB_MONTAGE_MAX_COLS is set to 2, which agrees with the format when I select NONE for group. no cookie problem.
