Finally got my 1.28.x system up and running, and I'm seeing something unusual that I didn't see before. I get a lot of "static" in the images, as in horizontal lines, usually randomly placed around the area where there is motion (using modect to trigger capture). I've heard of this before, but can't recall what causes it. The only thing that changed in my new setup for the actual capture side of it is I had to toss my dead Kodicom 8800 card and replaced it with a 4400R (which actually seems to work great). Same chipset, just 4 channels instead of 8 at a time (16 channels total), and you can assign any channel to any of the 4 chips, which is nice.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: static in images
The problem seems similar to this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=32&t=23440&p=89327&hilit=static#p89327
It appears to be a known problem. That's very unfortunate. Has any solution to this been found yet, other than having to go to IP encoders?

Re: static in images
I had the same (or very similar) problem with SAA7134 chipset 4 channel analog card. Switching capture palette to YUYV fixed it. Not the optimum solution for performance, but seems to work fine.
Re: static in images
Your're brilliant!! Thank you. This fixed it completely.
