This may be a dumb question but I read a lot of FAQs and guides and couldn't figure it out.
Here's the situation: I replaced the peep hole in my door with a video camera. Really, I drilled out the door, drilled out some of the metal in the existing peep hole, drilled out the plastic "lens" in it, and carefully installed an Axis covert camera. It's great! It was NOT EASY to install, but it works and no one looking at the door will see there is anything unusual about it. I preserved the appearance of the original perfectly. I get very clear HD images.
Problem is: when I enter or exit, the door swings open and the scene changes 100%. Somehow, this is putting ZM into alarm which it never comes out of so it keeps recording the event forever, until ZM is restarted. This is really annoying.
Does anyone have suggestions for me? I'm guessing there's some setting I can do to fix this?
Thank you

Increase the values in the Image Blend % fields in the Monitor configuration.
Visit my blog for ZoneMinder related projects using the Raspberry Pi, Orange Pi, Odroid, and the ESP8266

Hi Knniggett, should I increase both of the fields (reference image and alarm reference)? What values do you think are good? Right now they are both at 6.25%, the default.
What do those fields mean?

What settings did you settle on to fix the problem? I have similar issues here.

Hi Gary,Gary S wrote:What settings did you settle on to fix the problem? I have similar issues here.
I put it at:
Reference image blend %age: 12.5% (Outdoor)
Alarm reference image blend %age: 12.5%
I don't really understand these but it definitely works now.
I still have a cron job to restart ZM every night at midnight, just in case something gets stuck, but I don't think it's really needed so much at this point. It's working now.

Thanks. I'll try those numbers. You probably saved me a lot of time finding them by myself.
