Can i view a live stream in media player instead of ie. I assume i just put in the url but i dont know what the url is likely to be or where i can get it from

If you do a 'view source' in the live view window then this should display the url to use for viewing the stream. As it's so variable it's not likely to be much use me trying to guess, the best thing is to see what's actually being used.

One thing to be aware of is that if you are using authentication you will need to either copy the authentication string over, which has a limited lifetime during which you can start the stream, or you'll have to pass over a username and password, though this can be for an otherwise limited account.

The auth= part is the authentication, but it's time limited so you might have to use user=<user>&pass=<pass> instead if you want to say bookmark it.

Phil Thanks i can now get media player to view stream, but if i enter that into my pocket pc or smartphone neither work, ppc is media 10 and smartphone is media 9

Can they do this or dont they support asf?

What is best to view mpeg streams with i am using ie and firefox but bot appear to use wmp. Whats best, reason i ask is streams are all out of sync in montage..
