client check isn't working correctly

Post by ajpalm »

Hi There,

My 1.20 client keeps reporting that 1.20 is the latest version. I just wondered over here today and noticed that 1.21.1 is out, yet my zoneminder keeps saying its 1.20 is the latest.

Are we able to correct this?

Thanks

As I recall, I beleve that it had worked for me. I just checked 1.21.0 and it is reporting that a new version exists but does not report what the new version is. This could be something inherited for building the RPM if that is what you are using.

I didn't bother to bump up the version check to 1.21.1 as 1.21.2 is out shortly to fix a couple of niggles in 1.21.1. I thought people would probably prefer not to do two upgrades!

If I click on the 'version' thing, it says "The latest release is v1.21.0, you have v1.20.0."

Hmmm ok then, maybe you missed the point. The 'update' check on mine is saying that 1.20 is the latest, yet there has been a 1.20.1, 1.21.0 & 1.21.1. If you included the just released 1.21.2 that has been 4 versions it hasn't reported on being released.

Sorry but I thought the idea of this 'checking' was to report when new versions and bug releases were out. But it appears more so to be a selective processes.

No, you're right. I missed the point!

I assume you have ZM_CHECK_FOR_UPDATES switched on and have not previous chosen to ignore particular update versions?

Yeah I do.. and no I haven't ignored anything...

Not to worry, Nothing broken currently.... might have to get around to updating now :)

Might give this one a couple of days to 'settle' first!

PS Sorry if I came over the wrong way... got a bad headache :(

Love your work Phil!!! its a great product!!

I was just 'shocked' I hadn't been advised of these new versions via the product, as I've had no need to wonder over to the website in a while.
