Controlling bandwidth

Post by Zmjm15 »

Hi guys,

I'm wondering what are the options for controlling how much bandwidth is assigned to each connection when viewing the camera feeds, as when i connect using ZMNinja it uses up to 10mbps and using the normal console it uses about 2. I know there is low/med/high bandwidth user options in the console, is there anyway i can configure exactly how much bandwidth is limited to each of those users?

Also, is another application for bandwidth throttling an option? As in Trickle or bwctld?

Many thanks

If your question is about zmNinja, it ignores bandwidth settings as those are only applicable to the ZM web portal

To reduce bandwidth of zmNinja:

Go to developer settings:
a) Increase frame update (sec) --> this will reduce the refresh rate in montage screen
b) reduce montage image scale % --> this will reduce image quality in montage screen
c) reduce event single image scale % --> this will reduce image quality when viewing event footage
d) reduce event montage image scale % --> this will reduce image quality when in event montage screen
I no longer work on zmNinja, zmeventnotification, pyzm or mlapi. I may respond on occasion based on my available time/interest.
