Hi Guys
New to the forum. New to raspberry Pi aswell.
I bought a IPCam system with NVR. Was told it could do remote viewing, but apps like goolink only work over wifi. I have tried multiple settings, nothing seems to work and as soon as I leave my home network I cannot view my cameras anymore. I have many devices on the network and all have internet. I then setup port forwarding and can access the NVR, but the webserver on the NVR does not show anything on Android.
I thought my solution would be to take my pi and use zoneminder to test and only use it for remote viewing of the cameras. Can zoneminder get the images from the NVR and also access recorded images from the NVR? or must zoneminder talk directly to cameras(and be its own NVR)?
Anyways... reason for the post.
Please forgive me as I am still a noob with linux and the pi.
Im running Raspbian 8.1 (Jessie) and I amd really struggling with the install. I have redone and reformatted 6 times allready.
I am using the zoneminder raspbian guide: https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Raspbian
Everything goes fine and I install 1.29 zoneminder and all looks well and installed, until when I want to create DB(i assume) with this command:
mysql < /usr/share/zoneminder/db/zm_create.sql
I then get the following error:
"ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'
Can anybody please possible guiding me on this problem, or maybe help me understand?
I see there are general posts online about this, but not something directly related to my case.
Many Thanks
Cheers

Re: Raspberry PI Help please
I have found this was a password issue on my side. Thanks anyways.
Could anybody perhaps help me on my first question?
