issue building from Source on centos
issue building from Source on centos
hi,
this build also showing same result
/home/ZoneMinder/src/zm_ffmpeg.cpp:341:36: error: ‘AVFormatContext’ has no member named ‘dump_separator’
unsigned char *separator = ic->dump_separator;
i get tired trying build from source in cantos and keep up with the errors
but I'll not stop until i success
i have 29 cameras that's running in 1280*720
i am thinking the 264 is my last hope i don't want to give up on zoneminder
the master branch will analyses even if i use monitor and that kiling my CPU

Re: issue building from Source on centos
i just need some one
at least inform me if the 264 branch will reduce the loud
and thank you
i can't help the zoneminder with coding
but i think i can help with testing and donating
i already like the zoneminder and i hate the idea of using another software,
but Unfortunately right now the zoneminder not clear about the h264 Feature
because the default one is old way and not good at all takes a lot of resources
but have a lot of features that will make it best app in the world

Re: issue building from Source on centos
I'm not sure why you want to build ZoneMinder on your own, but you are free to do so.
I build zoneminder on CentOS 6 and 7, at least once a week, so we know it works.
Whenever the build fails with complaints about AVformat or AVanything, that means it can't find your ffmpeg libraries.
You should be following these instructions when building ZoneMinder:
http://zoneminder.readthedocs.org/en/la ... edhat.html
Doing it this way is the only way in which I am willing to provide support.
Short answer: Never build and install from source. Build a package instead, then install the package.

Re: issue building from Source on centos
I'm not sure what you mean exactly.
x264 support is a function of ffmpeg, not ZoneMinder. Zmrepo hosts the ffmpeg package, along with ZoneMinder, which already includes x264 support.

Re: issue building from Source on centos
The video branch is for development only. There will never be a pre-built package for that.
You can build the branch by following the instructions I referenced earlier.
Specifically:
http://zoneminder.readthedocs.org/en/la ... r-to-build
You need to be familiar with git. After git cloning the repository, checkout the branch you want to build. Then proceed to follow the rest of the instructions.
Not sure if you stated which version of CentOS you are using, but you will save yourself some package dependency issues by using CentOS 7 instead of 6.
I would not recommend anyone try this if they are not already comfortable building packages and are comfortable using git.
If this is not you, then you are better off waiting.

Re: issue building from Source on centos
We are currently all just volunteers, using our free time, on this project.
Development has been slow because the work has been extremely difficult, and we each need to prioritize work that does earn us money over this, so we can make a living, support our families, etc.
We all want this branch to move into production, and work on it recently has increased.
For those without the know-how to build and test this branch, I would highly recommend you consider increasing the bounty on the open github issue:
https://github.com/ZoneMinder/ZoneMinder/issues/39
...especially since it appears you are attempting to make money by selling ZoneMinder or sell your services associated with that.

i have jewelry store and i proud to use free open source
and thank you again
i will keep donate no matter what
but i am afraid this community will stop or hang
i think profit from something i can't even build is bad idea

Re: issue building from Source on centos
Thank you for your contribution.
If you made a general contribution in bounty source, it pays for our overhead costs for site hosting, web design, some server hardware, etc. That is very helpful when we don't have to dig into our own pockets to pay for this stuff.
When you place a bounty on a specific issue through bounty source, it will directly pay the ones who do the work.

Re: issue building from Source on centos
i think making a documentation about how to build it from sources you help other developers to save a lot of time and makes them interested
like i said before i wish i can help more
but right know i have 29 cam and only use 10 because the loud
if my cameras work just fine i can wait for production and i will be willing to donate more than what cost in the paid apps
and thank you guys for making this fantastic software
