Hello;
i have successful installed 1.29 on Ubuntu 14.04 server which runs in a virtual box of nas4free on a HP microserver. As mentioned in the zm wiki, in case of ubuntu server installation, zm console cannot be reached from the same computer. On different pc you should open up a browser and go to h**p://hostname_or_ip/zm - this should bring up ZoneMinder Console.
I can reach Ubuntu in the virtual box via uvnc from different pc typing: ip:port, then type in the password for virtual box in the up coming window, but don't know how to chain the two links together to bring the zm console up.
Does anybody know how to do this?
Thank you!
How to access zm on Ubuntu server in virtualbox
Re: How to access zm on Ubuntu server in virtualbox
Use a bridged Ethernet adaptor in your vm.
Re: How to access zm on Ubuntu server in virtualbox
I already use a bridged adapter.
Re: How to access zm on Ubuntu server in virtualbox
The bridged adapter should get its own IP address from your network DHCP and not share the IP of the host machine. I use Virtual Box and bridged adapter is what it calls it.
If you are having problems getting into Linux in a virtual box on NAS4Free you may want to go to their forum for help. Zoneminder is a web app and once you can get into Apache on Ubuntu on the VM Zoneminder should work.
