Hi everyone,
I bought a Amcrest QCam IP3M952E which is in the support hardware list wiki.zoneminder.com/Amcrest_QCam.
Here is a sample of the picture I get from Zominder connected to it:
And here is the picture from the QCam Smart client app:
I was wondering if it is something I am doing wrong or if it is normal.
Is the QCam app connecting using a different protocol?
Or is my server not powerful enough?
Should I consider buying better Cameras or Upgrading my hardware?
(1 CPU 2.4Ghz, 1GB RAM and 1Ghz Network card)
The Camera is connected on the same 10/100/1000 switch as the Zoneminder server. The QCam is only 100 megabits.
I am doing lots of testing and this is the only cam monitored by Zoneminder.
Picture from ZM is really ugly.

very common problem that is often discussed in this forum. Search: ffmpeg, tearing, distorted, corrupted
Visit my blog for ZoneMinder related projects using the Raspberry Pi, Orange Pi, Odroid, and the ESP8266

Ugly? It's waviness is hypnotic and almost poetic. I wouldn't change a thing.
I no longer work on zmNinja, zmeventnotification, pyzm or mlapi. I may respond on occasion based on my available time/interest.
