Does anybody have any experience with ZoneMinder installed on Fedora 24

Post by anonit520 »

Hello,

I tried installing the CentOS version and couldn't get it to work then
the Ubuntu on two different versions and couldn't get it to work, then i
tried the Debian version and almost got it to work...

Then i tried the F24 (Fedora 24) version and got it to work, but it was
a BEAR...lol anyway it works but i have 2 issues...

1) ZoneMinder doesn't see any cameras in the console
https://localhost/zm which is the Fedora server after installing the
cameras...

2) from a windows workstation and the Firefox browser
http://192.168.10.102/zm , and i get page cant be found...

Camera is a Foscam FI9805E

Server is Fedora 24 installed on a Dell Optiplex 790 i3

TP link router GW 192.168.10.1

Can anybody help with this and installation on a server with ZoneMinder
F24 (Fedora 24) version, we are trying to test zoneminder in a
commercial building and would like to pay somebody for hep with
supporting zoneminder...

Have you searched the forums for other users of CentOS and Fedora?

If you follow the instructions included with each Linux distros zoneminder package, your installation will be smooth. Here is a slightly outdated youtube of me installing zoneminder on CentOS in about 8 minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2lLvl8WxfU

Fedora installs the same way.

We test this every week so we know they work well.

Since you are using Fedora, let's start with determining where you got ZoneMinder from.
Post the output of:

Code: Select all

rpm -qi zoneminder
Visit my blog for ZoneMinder related projects using the Raspberry Pi, Orange Pi, Odroid, and the ESP8266
All of these can be found at https://zoneminder.blogspot.com/
