4 port 4 chip 878 card

Post by jameswilson »

Cannot for life of me get this thing working, i have tried 77,77,77,77 and all i get is the same image on each chip
Set zm to use dev 0,1,2,3 chan 0 on all then when connecting camera to ip4 i get the same image on all channels. I obviously need another card number. I have seen this card advertised as a 16 channel too but i only have a lead for 4 (maybe 8) cameras I have a picture of it but dunno how to put it here

similar card on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... eName=WDVW[/img]

Hi James,
Is there any marking on the board that may give a clue.

You can also try card = 74 or 103 or 111
all three of this are to support a board with four chips.
Regards,
Cordel

Just FYI,
If you have just one dongle the setting will use most likely video0(0) to video3(0).
How many connectors are on the back of the card?
Are they DB9?
Might want to try to see if you can find the card here (Lots of pictures)

there are 5 phono conectors on the back of the card 4 white 1 yellow, the whites are marked audio 1 -4 and the yellow is marked vld i think. I have 3 connectors that connect on a blaking plate (game port/midi port size) with a lead that connects to these and gives me 8 bnc's. 4 maked vid1-4 (black cable) another 4 marked AID 1-4 (grey cable)

Dontk know what AID stands for mind

Have you applied any patches to video4linux?

That looks like a card for which a patch has been issued.

I'm a bit out of date with zm/v4l things though - maybe it's been rolled in?

A search of the forums here should yeald a link...

I have searched again incase i missed something and am still out of luck, Im currnetly using the card to push my zm box and check its stable when overloaded (640x480 at 25fps per input 100fps toatl) and it runs at a load of between 8 and 12, It slows to a crawl and drops some frames but not many. Oh and its on a 2.4 Ghz celeron abit via chipset cheap board 512Mb and 160Gb (2.4Ghz oc'ed to 3.1Ghz will report back diffence in load at different frequencies.)

Anyway back on topic anyone any ideas for this card as it only accepts video in on "AUD4" then puts the same image on each device.

Cheers

There is a video4linux list at https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo ... linux-list which deals a lot with hardware enquiries and which might be useful. So long as you're pretty precise with your question and comprehensive with any details I think that's probably your best chance.

Hi jameswilson,
I have the same card, just received last week.
The correct card # is 131 I think, try it. It is Tibet Systems 'Progress DVR' CS16.
Also this link is useful, http://dl.bytesex.org/ in the patches there is exactly this card. I have not tried yet, I will come with results soon.
Good luck,
:-)
