Signal Loss
Signal Loss
Hi all. I am new to Zoneminder, but I see tremendous potential in it. I have a problem concerning signal loss. I can get my camera setup and working pretty good. But then when I try to tweak the parameters "Reference Image Blend" and "AlmRefImageBlendPct" I get signal loss errors. Even if I put the values back to what worked originally, I will continue to get these errors at what I would consider an unacceptable rate, ~ 1 every 45 seconds. Is this a nuance in Zoneminder, or is there something I am doing wrong? Thank you.
Re: Signal Loss
Whatever values you use they should be the same for both of those settings.

Re: Signal Loss
Thanks for letting me know. I did not know that but, I do by chance have them the same and I still get a signal error. The screen turns periodically blue when viewing through zoneminder. I guess next thing I could try to run an ethernet cord to it and see if it persists?
Re: Signal Loss
You are likely getting what some call streaking, This can be caused by a lot of things, There are plenty of recommended fixes but we will need to know what camera you are using and how you have it set up in ZM.

Re: Signal Loss
Your values for Max FPS and alarm MAX FPS are invalid. Click the "?", read the help the text, then fix the values.

Re: Signal Loss
Ah. I think that might have done it! So far so good. If anything changes I will update this thread. I changed the framerate on the camera to 5 and changed the max fps on alert to 8. Does this make sense? Or should I be doing something else you think?
Re: Signal Loss
Analysis FPS and Maximum FPS should be blank except for local (non-network) cameras
Alarm Maximum FPS may be used for network cameras but may cause issues and thus should be blank also...
