The rotation question again

I can't seem to get this right. I just rebuilt my zm and very happy that I got everything working correct. 1.29 on ubuntu 16. I want to set the filters to delete anything older than 12hrs. So...

filter = time
less than = -12 hours
match = delete.

I'm positive i'm just confused on the syntax. I want to keep the last 12 hours of footage, but instead i login after 12pm and i don't have anything prior, so it seems to delete anything before noon once noon hits?????

Guess: You may have misunderstood "Time". I think ...

"Time" refers to the time on a 24 hour clock, and time repeats every day. So "Time: before 8am" is any event on ANY day before 8am.

"Date/Time" involves the date as well as the time of day.

I use the "x units ago" syntax as the "less than -12 hours" makes me have to think too much.

Maybe you want "Date/Time / less than / 12 hours ago"

Or I may have misunderstood all the above, in which case move on

Yeah you want Date/Time and the less than -12 hours should work.

I might suggest that you also add the not Archived lines like are present in the PurgeWhenFull filter.
