Socket Errors on 1.29 Raspbian Clean

Post by thecountrylife »

Hello All,

I have searched these forums and several others and attempted almost every fix but nothing works. I have a Raspberry Pi that I setup as the home DVR for the cameras. It has a fresh install of Raspbian and a fresh install of ZoneMinder done the "easy way" using the instructions at (https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Raspbian). I did every single step as instructed down to the bottom and every time I try to watch a feed I get the error:
socket_sendto( /var/run/zm/zms-062590s.sock ) failed: No such file or directory
I have tried almost every "solution" in this forum and another but it will not work. I know that is may have something to do with the Apache2 setup and config but I do not know where something went wrong. All of the paths appear correctly and all point to where the cgi-bin is stored. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Those errors are usually the result of watching the stream for a long time with no browser refresh. If you restart the system and do not view the stream do you get the errors? socket_sendto errors are not fatal but can fill up the log a bit.

Those instructions are a bit aged. Check this out: https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Debian_8_64 ... e_Easy_Way

So the problem has semi corrected itself, if I change a users password then the feed stops working and the socket errors appear; however, if I just create a new user and disable/delete the old one then everything works fine?
