Upgraded1.21.0->1.21.2 thennvalid JPEG file structure:

Post by donatmote »

I upgraded from 1.21.0 -> 1.201.2 Now I have no picture in the monitor and see this in zmdc.log.

zmc -m 2' started at 05/07/06 10:02:36
'zmc -m 2' starting at 05/07/06 10:02:36, pid = 20483
Invalid JPEG file structure: two SOI markers
'zmc -m 2' crashed at 05/07/06 10:03:08, exit status 1

The source camera hasn't changed. I seem to be getting images stored, as I can display events.

Where to look? Thaks.

Hi Don,

Check Options->Network->ZM_NETCAM_REGEXPS and see if that helps. What cameras do you have by the way?

Hi Phil,

Thanks. zmc seems to have stopped crashing. But I'm still getting broken pictures. I'll have to keep looking.q.

The camera is still the web camera you helped me with earlier -- that needed http 1.0 because of the chunks problem in 1.1.

Hey, Don. I've got a client across the street from you; Gulfwind. I'll wave next time I go down there. Have a bacon cheeseburger for me, eh?

You using this for security or marine monitoring? Anything public?

It's for security -- and nothing public, I'm afraid.

Hi Phil,

Here are some other observations. Whe I click on the event total in one of the console columns, the relevant table of events comes up. Then when I click on the event name, a window comes up with a broken image, as in the monitor window. But the thumbnails are there and if I click on a thumbnail a good image is displayed. I can save the image, and it's 352x240, the dimensions I have on the web tab in options.

Does this give any clues? Thanks.

The event viewing behaviour _shouldn't_ be any different than before, and certainly isn't linked to the options setting in previous postings. Just to make sure I'm in the right view, it's when you would ordinarily see an event streamed to you? Is that correct? And when you click on 'Stills' it shows you all the images?

In the monitor watch -- I'm seeing neither the stream nor the stills. When I open an event, the image is broken there as well.

On the main console, if I click on -- say the Hour event number -- then click on an event in the event table, the image is broken. If I click on a thumbnail, the image is displayed.

Thanks.

This looks like a problem with the zms cgi. Do you see any errors in your apache debug logs or in /var/log/messages?

OK --

I don't find zms in /var/log/messages at all.

I find this:
pegtopnm: WRITING PPM FILE
in apache/error.log

And when I start the watch window I see this in apache/acess.log:

12.174.211.101 - - [08/Jul/2005:11:24:50 -0400] "GET /zm/zm.php?view=watchstatus&mid=2&last_status=4 HTTP/1.1" 200 740 "http://zoneminder.mote.org/zm/zm.php?vi ... t_status=4" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4" "-"

zms is owned by the apache userid (www-data) and is worls read/executable

In the acces.log from pre-upgrade, I can zms being called -- since upgrade I don't see it.

Continuing thanks.
