Hi everybody
As I was unssusscessful trying to install zm with the tar files, I decided to give it a go to the RPM version and to this end I downloaded the following file:
zm-1.21.0-6_mdk101.i586.rpm
as I tried to install it my machine reported one error that I reproduce below:
root@localhost downloads]# rpm -U zm-1.21.0-6_mdk101.i586.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
liblame is needed by zm-1.21.0-6_mdk101
libmp3lame.so.0 is needed by zm-1.21.0-6_mdk101
perl(Device::SerialPort) is needed by zm-1.21.0-6_mdk101
perl(X10::ActiveHome) is needed by zm-1.21.0-6_mdk101
[root@localhost downloads]#
I know that that means the absence of some packages in my machine. However I am unnable to find those packages to download.
Any ideas of where can I grab those packages? or is there any way-round to get rid of these failures?
I will really appreciate any help (p.s. I am running Mandrake 10.1)
Regards
Luis
RPM and lost packages
You need to install the lame package (the first two)
the others are perl modules.
perl-Device-Serialport
Perl-X10 (this one you may need to get through CPAN See the README)
Both perl modules you can get through CPAN if you wishsince you need to go there for the other.
The lame package may take a bit of googling to find it for your distro or Ross would know were so if you wait, I sure as soon as he is off work he'll post more info to this thread.

You can find the missing perl RPMs here:
http://www.elltel.net/melins/mdk_10.1/RPMS/
You will also find the newest ZM RPM.
For the liblame you will need to go to a plf mirror. The easiest way to set up a source for plf mirrors is the easyurpmi web utility. You can find it here:
http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/

thank you very much... but not the bad news...
I believe I suffered an electric surge yesterday night and not surprisingly it killed my hard drive and my wifi router -both die suddenly-
that means the project will need to wait until I manage to get hold of a new HD...
but thanks very much for your help
