h.264 rtsp ip camera configuration issues - encoding error?

I'm obsessive, I know.

Using cam config:
- source type: ffmpeg
- source path: rtsp://ip-addr:554/ch0_0.h264
- cap width: 1600
- cap height: 1200
- no fps specified

Using ZM config:
- ffmpeg installed
- Images\MPEG_LIVE_FORMAT = mp4
- Images\MPEG_REPLAY_FORMAT = mp4
- Images\OPT_CAMBOZOLA = Checked
- Images\OPT_FFMPEG = Checked
- Images\PATH_FFMPEG = /usr/local/bin
- Images\FFMPEG_INPUT_OPTIONS = -i
- Images\FFMPEG_OUTPUT_OPTIONS = -r 25
- Images\FFMPEG_FORMATS = mpg mpeg wmv asf avi* mov swf 3gp** h264 mp4

So far, I have images at a low FPS (< 15FPS). Same result as EverWake but with slight improvement. My shared memory is at 4GB and upping it from 1GB to 2GB helped, but then from 2GB to 4GB showed no difference. All other cams are disabled and I am focusing everything on this 1 camera.

Unfortunately the 720p mode is completely useless and the UVGA (1600x1200) isn't very happy. I will continue to test thoroughly and document the results and the final config.

Note, I am a former developer and I was thinking about what it would take to write an ONVIF module for ZM. It would certainly be helpful, but it may be a bit more of an undertaking than I am prepared for.

well, some testing has been done, I have not done any work on this issue myself, moved during the summer and just found my amovision camera today, unfortunately my zm install is not up and running yet, I did however notice that amovision has posted FW-updates on their website amovision.com, I have not tried upgrading the fw myself yet, but it might be worth a try.

did test the camera today though, and noticed a strange thing, opening the stream in quicktime viewer on my macbook produces the exact samt problem with smeared images as ZM does...vlc still works just fine though...

Well I got the 720p mode working. I had a corrupt kernel in one of my Amovision cams which I fixed up. I've been pestering Amovision to post firmwares on their site after informiing them how many units I purchased and how irresponsible it was not to have firmwares on their site. I wonder if they took me serious.

I do know tho that I have 2x300kpxl cams and 1 amovision 720p cam. Anything past that, the whole thing gets distorted. I am wondering since its in a VM, if I need to give it more than 4GB of shared.
