Thanks, I think that moved the issue forward a step.

Now, ZoneMinder shows an icon of a broken image, suggesting the camera data is trying to load via ZoneMinder, but not succeeding.

So, my current ZoneMinder settings with your suggestions are:

Just checked the ZoneMinder camera 5 minutes later, and now shows the same red screen, rather than the broken image icon.

What does the log say now?

Just checked, and now ZoneMinder is showing picture.
I didn't change anything? Seems to have magically fixed itself (maybe be restarting itself?)

That's good, now I can get on with figuring out the recording settings for the PTZ camera.
