As a noob learning about zoneminder, reading about ES in a mobile apps sub forum only reminds me of ES file explorer.

As a benefit for other people, this refers to an application called Event Notification Server. You can find more information here:

The FAQ explains what it is. If I understand it correctly, it is a message events gateway using the MQTT protocol. The FAQ mixes in machine learning (which I understand very well), but I'm not sure how ML plays with the events gateway.

I use it for detecting objects, recognising people and reading registration numbers on cars. It's a great 'extra' for ZoneMinder. I use ZMNinja (same author) too.
