I have found this RPM  , but as I and suspected, it is not established on Mandrake:

I now shall try SRPM.

I'll be happy to rebuild for mandrake if anyone wants it.

The login issue is still unresolved on 10.0. I expect there are a lot of livecd folks who would like to upgrade, so I have been holding off, hoping 1.20.1 final will solve this.

On 10.1 it's working pretty much like FC3.

Well I did not have any luck with Cordel's lastest build for Fedora (zm-1.20.1-RC3). I'm still looking at the login screen only. I guess I'll be waiting for the livecd...

Monty,
What Distro are you using?
Did you install the packages for MD5?
I have the defualt set to use MD5, maybe I should change it to defualt off.
Let me know what your dealling with so I can work on it.

Just to make sure I'm clear on this, Mandrake 10.0 has login problems and 10.1 doesn't? Or is it the other way around?

One possible thing to check is to diff the respective php.ini files and see if there something obvious that leaps out from there. DO they both have the same version of php?

Thats correct.

10.0 uses php 4.3.4, 10.1 uses 4.3.8. I checked /etc/php.ini and made sure that all settings are the same on both systems.

Sorry for not supplying more info in the first place. I suppose you can tell I was trying to be lazy by using the rpms in the first place and not just compiling as I did the last ZM (which I compilied on Mandrake), so using the rpms on fedora is rather new to me... But I must admit I half assed it and figured everything I would need would be on your ftp. :)

Anyways I started with a clean Fedora Core 3 x86 setup on a 2.66ghz P4 (with mysql[3.23.58]/httpd[2.0.52]/php[4.3.9]/ftp). All the normal updates from redhat. I installed all the packages on your ftp and any dependencies via rpmfind and dag.wieers (which turned out to be a bit of a challenge). I turned off ZM_OPT_USE_AUTH (as I don't need it) and changed the ZM_AUTH_METHOD to plain text (for good measure) then ran the db creation script. ZM starts up fine from all that I can tell (no error msgs). I just can't login from the terminal or via web. (First with the orginal zm-1.20.0 rpm then with zm-1.20.1-RC3).

I did at first start to install all the devel rpms needed to update to php5, but stopped short of compiling php5 since I figured it might break some thing in zm. :D

If I'm the only one still with the problem (as it seams) it's probably from my half assing it. Just I didn't see anyone say they made a successful install or not. Since I'm doing this at work, I can't really justify spending too much time on it...

Cheers :)

Monty,
The rpms I have on my FTP are where the packages on Fedora fall short. If you select Custom install in anaconda and select the mysql server, mysql, and the mysql devel (devel is required by one of the perl modules) and select apache server with the perl dbd, libdbi-DBD-mysql(not sure you need this one but just in case), DBI, modules... and a few other perl modules that I can't remember off the top of my head at the moment (sorry been up for 32 hours) then the packages from me perl-IO-stringy, perl-mailtools, perl-mime-tools, etc you should have every thing you need. If your building from source of course you need the Devel tools.
Cheers,
Cordel
PS: If your in a rush PM me and I have an alternative for you that should get you up and running easly.
