No, nothing dramatic in the logs I don't think (see the /zmlogs subdir for details).
If I understand this correctly, changing over to a mjpeg stream might work better for me. In that case, do I set the path to look for a .cgi?

I mean mjpeg as in multipart-jpeg (sorry wasn't clear). I'll stay the course though and leave things as they are and go through the logs.

Ah well, could have been motion-jpeg also...(trying to multiplex this and a 3-year-old...).
Cordel commented about numerically named jpgs might be confusing zm. I'm going to rename and try again...

Nah, same symptom. Interesting other side effect though...each source is set to a max of 2fps. If I monitor the video0 view it maxes out at a little over 4fps.

Fair enough, thanks for your help. I've got a few hours yet so I'll let you know what I come up with.

Ok, last update before I turn in.
1. Reduced the number of buffers from 40 to 25 for each source. No diff.
2. Set env vars ZM_DBG_PRINT and ZM_DBG_LEVEL to 3, then went through zmdc.log and split out the 4 zmc outputs by PID (available at
http://salem/dyndns.org/zmlogs). Grepped looking for differing image sizes from one instance of zmc, everything looks OK, ie, each instance stuck to the same image.
I guess the next thing for me is to fire up Ethereal and see what's actually being sent to the browser. That's a job for tomorrow evening. 'Night.

I monitored on Ethereal while I viewed source video0 only (no montage). The image jumped back and forth between 1.jpg and 3.jpg, and that's what I saw on Ethereal too - two different jpgs alternating.
