New install problems

I have installed the CD out of the box so to speak and am having some problems. Well really one that has me at a loss.
I install the CD and add the changes to /etc/modprobe.conf for the Grandtec, for my other (working) system it is "options bttv card=103".
The system comes up and works initially on a fresh load if I update or I do not do an update with yum. This seems to happen on 1.21.3 and 1.21.4.
What I mean by that is I connect a camera to a port on the grandtec and I get the video. At some point the system will start capturing a white screen from the Grandtec no matter what I connect to any of the ports.
At first I thought I had a bad Grandtec so I swapped with my known good card out of another working system only to have the same results. I am starting to suspect that I have compatibility problems with some of the hardware.
Hardware config as follows:
Intel motherboard (D945GTP)
1GB Ram
P4 3.0 Dual Core (not using the multi-processor Kernel)
Grandtec xguard 16
500Gb sata drive

When i try to load from the CTU cd, i get a cd not found when i get to the gui. happens on two different machines and at least 4 different disks. all of the disks were burned on pc's using roxio, nero or iso recorder power toy.
I'm not sure what is causing this.
Help!

does it say cd1 not found? as if you are trying to install something that requires the full fedora core3 cd then you will need one of them. FC3 normally comes on 4 cd's and corey has slimmed it a bit!

No. Here is the exact verbage:
"CD NOT FOUND
The CTU Linux CD was not found in any of your CDROM drives. Please insert the CTU Linux CD and press OK to retry."
Do i need a separate CTU Linux disk? Corey made it sound like this disk was all that was needed.
Thanks for the prompt response, i really appreciate any help you can give. I've been struggling with a regular ZM install with dependancies, and thought this would be a quicker solution.
Thanks.

looks like i may have a corrupt iso. tried copying the ctu directory, but get an error on the base directory and the last 11 rpm's from the rpm directory. i tried reading them with isobuster, but get corruption error.
i'm downloading again.
btw, martymoose, i tried hitting the try again thing about a hundred times. didn't work, which started me thinking the iso may be corrupted.
Thanks all for your assistance.

You only need the one CD and suspect as well that your iso maybe corrupted.

I downloaded the iso again. This time after hitting the try again key a couple times, I can get it to install pretty reliably. When i do get it installed it says it installed ok, but halts on the reboot. Always at the print service or cups. I haven't tried installing a print server or ever intend to print with this machine. Is there a way to disable this? I have installed with the bare minimum to prevent print services from loading.
Thanks for any help you can give.

the compaq 2.4 will not take it
either bad disc or installer exits
tried different media discs
got out the dell 400 not a hickup
even the so called bad media discs worked
might be nuthin
so installed in dell and on first reboot droped in compaq worked fine

cups is a requirement if you install any of the desktops. You can stop the service once installed or run it like most of us do headless (no desktop) which is best for zoneminder anyway.
The new FC5 based version will be headless only BTW.
