OK, finally got back to this today. The guardianship racket is thriving in Australia after having been borrowed from the US some years ago. Our officialdom has however refined it into an art-form to the point where a special representative we had from the United Nations told us that Australia is worse than North Korea in human rights abuse.

The Puppy CD loads perfectly with no database errors and everything looks good until I attempt to view the cameras. As far as I can tell, the capture card drivers load with no error, and the brand new analog cameras work on commercial DVRs, but Zoneminder doesn't know the cameras even exist. Same applies to IP cameras that are visible over the internet. There are a lot of parameters to fill in but everything I've read raises more questions than answers. I can't spend any more time on this right now but will try to make some sense of the camera setup stuff when I get a bit of time.

don't let yourself get discouraged! first hurdle is overcome, you have it running. Now messing with the config settings looks daunting but try not to change any of them at first except to fill in network cameras URL and the paths to see the camera output stream. here is a helpful link for the network cameras http://www.ispyconnect.com/sources.aspx to help find the correct paths.

So at first change as little as possible and stick to the defaults. Experiment and we can look into "seeing" the analog camera's video card afterwards. I think your close to getting some good results.
