i'm blind or i don't understand...

where do i define the username and pw so this app can login to my zm install ?

as far as i understand the user/pw in this app is for securing the login to this app ?

but my zoneminder uses user/pw so i can't just access the stuff right ?

yes the user name and password is used for both
you need to define the same user name in zm4ms as you use for zm as it passes the login info to zm. ie if you setup a user called stream with a password of stream this also needs to be a user that can stream in zm. Plus at the moment you cant use spaces in user name or password.

another problem i could use some help is viewing ipcams directly...

i my case i have a axis 206w, but i limited the viewer to a user created on the camera..

usually using a browser i would use this url

user:pw@ip/axis-cgi/jpg/image.cgi?resolution=640x480

using that doesn't work...

if i remove the restricting pn my cam and alow anonymous access using

ip/axis-cgi/jpg/image.cgi?resolution=640x480

it works just fine....

any clue howto fix that or is this a bug ?

i presume you have ticked url mode for that cam? if so i dont know why that wont work as in url mode the who
e path s used to request the image, i can only assume a charecter is unliked in the path statement. i will have a look and see.

the : is confusging .net in the path statement, is there another way to pass aurh info without the :

Unfortunately there is not. This is a standard for logins of that type. I lock down some of my pages that don't have a way to manage users (Unlike zm that can) using autentication through apache which accepts the same type of login.

What browser are you using? Be aware that Internet Explorer no longer supports http://user:password@host/path URLS. Give it a try with FireFox or some other browser.

its not a browser, its a .net picturebox with its url path set to whatever the url is entered (if in url mode)

as cordel said thats the standard method to supply authentication for this kinda stuff...

i guess i found a problem...

guess i can't solve this on my own without taking access contol away...and thats not really a option...

im not sure what i can do about this as the url thing was never designed for perm viewing of cameras as its designed to get its images from zm. I will look into it but im thinking if .net framework wont pull in an image from a http source with this in it then im tuped, but i will have a look
