i changed the path from:
http://192.168.178.20/cgi-bin/zms?mode=jpeg&monitor=1&scale=100&maxfps=5&rand=1155413298
to
http://192.168.178.20/cgi-bin/zms?mode=single&monitor=1&scale=100&maxfps=5&rand=1155413298
and voila --> the first time i can see a picture.

So fare, so good. Do you think we have the prerequisite now to persuade zm4ms for correct working? :lol:

yes, the only thing i can think is thats its an authentication issue, try turning auth on in zm and creating a user that can view cameras, then add this user to zm4ms and login with those details

Now i did the following Steps:

1.) i enabled authentication:
Image

2.) added a new user:
Image

3.) changed settings in zm4ms:
Image

and here...
Image[/list]

And the result is, --> no picture, no stream

Any idea, or should we give up?

r2 the playback tab is purly playback auth into mysql not for setting anything to do with streaming!

You need to create your user in 'users'If you have left the default admin password at admin and this is still the admin password for zm then you dont need to do anything. eg
create a user in zm called viewer and password of viewer and enable all views
create user 1 in users tab in zm4ms called viewer with password of viewer.
log out of zm4ms and log back in. You should get images. I can only sugggest that you enable rdp for your machine or vnc and i will have a look if the above doesnt work. We must be missing something little somewhere

192.167.x.x

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
Do you know what this mean :?:

you need to allow mysql to accept connection from the network on port 3306. I think someone put this in the wiki on how to do it on debian. You need to edit the conf file for mysql and reboot
