My question was a general one, not specifically addressed to Ross. I wonder why do we have to move to another distro... I downloaded MDV 2008.1, looks nice. It has lots of nice packages to choose from, for example asterisk 1.4 and its gui is very easy to install and works fine. I wasn't able to get ZM running on it though, but I must say I'm not a linux guru.
The entire Mandriva One 2008.1 is a LiveCD itself. Why can't we do a basic ZM version of it, just like Ross did with the 2007.0? And everyone could then customize it the way they want, via CLI or GUI by adding any of the latest packages available. I mean they compiled that original LiveCD somehow, I guess creating a ZM version out of it would be similar.
Is there a reason for not going this way? Must we change the distro? Why isn't MDV 2008.1 good enough for the ZM Live CD Project?
If I had the knowledge, I sure would do it. Or knew the answer to the above
