Hello
I have a compaq deskpro en P111 866mhz. with Xununtu and ZM installed. So far I`am loving it. I have two pelco cameras hooked up. Loads get to 2 or 3. Cameras are set to max 8fps and alarm max 10fps. I want more power. So
I have a old Soyo K7v Dragon Plus motherbord that I want to use for a 4-8 cctv setup. The max cpu I ca use is a 2100+ (1.73.ghz) and I`am going to max the ram with 3 gigs.

Will this be enough hoursepower?

Thanks for your help. This is the first time using this software.

Unless you put together a 64 bit machine, I would not bother with more than 2 GB of ram since this is the limitation of the 32 bit architecture.

There's several ways you can balance the load - I did a section about it on the wiki. 8fps is highish but probably achievable on that if tuned right.

Don't you mean 4 gig? :) Well 3 gig after the graphics card and other devices are mapped? So he is actually right in the sweet spot.
I think that hardware will work fin You are a little tight on CPU, but acceptable. Memory is very good.

Ok thanks guys. I will check out the wiki, and go with the 3 gig of ram.
