Hi, got a Ovislink WL-5420CAM and would like to use it with ZM, the problem is it uses a supper ugly interface that needs ActiveX. It has a feature to record AVI files (with the date as part of the name) on a samba share, but no option to upload jpg files...

Is it possible to use a AVI file that's being updated as input for zoneminder?

You have to write something to take the AVI stream, and strip it to jpegs, and spool that to ZM. Generally it is cheaper or easier just to get a camera that works.

Pretty much assumed it... As a new user of ZoneMinder wasn't sure about the valid input formats... Thanks for replying...

Google produces a lot of pages with that model # and references to "motion jpeg". You sure it doesn't also output in jpeg mode?
