FTDI USB to RS232 Converter compatable?

Post by marv2097 »

Can anyone confirm if the range of FTDI USB to 232 converter IC's are supported by ZM? Specifically the FT232R

I am looking to use one as a virtual com port and wondered if anybody had any expirience with these?

Thanks in advance. Martin..

If they are it would not be ZM that is in question but the Linux kernel it self. Your probably gonna have to google for that one. According to the link you posted, support is standard for this device in any kernel greater than 2.6.9 and 2.4.20 trunks. I assume this give you a serial device /dev/stty0 so it would be like any other serial device. Although I don't have any experience with these devices, hopefully someone else might.
