i really don`t know what to set,. i get this error when i try to run sudo dpkg -i zoneminder_1.22.3-8_i386.deb

I don`t know anything about mysql. As far as i can see it`s a problem with access to zm datagbase. But i don`t know how to give access toit

That depends on what distribution you are on and how you installed mysql. But you can go in with a mysql admin tool and delete the zm database, then recreate it.

I'm not sure if ubuntu has a mysql gui, but my live cd does.

You should/could be able to simply boot my cd, copy the /opt/mysql-gui-tools-5.0 to /opt on your hard disk, then reboot and use the binaries in the above directory.

Alternativley you could mount the squashfs on the live cd and run directly from there, let me know if you want to know how to mount a sfs file.

Run Synaptic, and "Completely Remove" mysql and zoneminder. Then when you reinstall it will be totally clean.

thanks... last time i removed with synaptic i removed also some other stuff and couldn`t boot into ubuntu again and I had to reinstall the desktop

now it seems it works.
