New motherboards are too limited

Searching for motherboards that include 4+ older pci and AGP 4/8.
The problem is that multiple video input cards are usually needed and most PCI2 video cards require new drivers that Linux doesn't support yet (or the vendor hasn't bothered to create a Linux driver). This also goes for sata chips and several other new features that will take a few years to get into the loop. Meanwhille, the suitable motherboards are discontinued.

I built a system on this just the other day. SATA is well supported in linux. And you can only use 16 BT878 chips, so two slots on an 8 chip card and you are full... But this has 3.

Sata on SiS chips didn't get supported

I have two motherboards with a 5 year old design sata chip by SiS that was not supported until the 2.6.2x kernel. My point is that the hardware is progressing far faster than the support for it in Linux, and dropping legacy items.

The video input card manufacturers should be introducing cards that use pci2 so we can get 32 inputs with full 20fps per input.

Directron is about 10 minutes from my house. And that have always treated me better than right. I have had them replace defective stuff when the manufacture was screwing the channel. If something doesn't work, they fix it, whatever it takes. I went in with a picky Gigabyte motherboard one time to upgrade memory. They just tried each brand starting with the cheapest until one worked and passed all memory tests. However, I also buy quite a bit of stuff from them every year. But if you are mail order, there is nothing wrong with NewEgg.
